Gentrify Me: Artists’ Perspectives on Community Change

Meika Fields just sent us the following email:

This April a group of Charlotte artists and I are developing an art show in North Davidson about community perspectives on neighborhood change.
Leading up to the art show entitled “Gentrify Me: Artists’ Perspectives on Community Change” we are surveying interested members of the Charlotte and North Davidson community including artists, community members, investors, planners and designers for their suggestions on how planning efforts can better integrate the needs and concerns of an extended community, specifically in regards to affordability and maintaining neighborhood diversity. This effort comes out of the desire for increased public participation from community members and artists regarding the form of, and planning decisions made in, their communities.
We hope that you might be able to participate in our online survey, and pass it on to other community groups or individuals that may find interest. The survey is online and entirely confidential. We would also like to invite you to attend the art show “Gentrify Me: Artist’s Perspectives on Community Change” which will be held at Dialect Gallery, located at 3204-C North Davidson St, for the month of April.
