Postcard from Germany - Traveling by Rail

Dear Dialect Folks and Dialect Friends. The weather here in good old Germany is lovely and the pigeons pesky. So that you don't miss our daily bare-knuckle design sessions on all things architectural modern - here now a few impressions of my travels by rail. Handrail that is. All relatively new. Maybe they will inspire some fresh ideas. Don't forget to water the plants.

Architectural Field Report from Hamburg Germany (2)

The detailing is amazing to what I am used to see in the States. This is a typical window unit for a residential multifamily building, somewhere in the medium range of pricing. The expectation in the quality of construction and materials is much higher here. I am sure the average cost of construction must be higher, because of it, I do not know though. I love to see it of course and am envious for the means available. The price fighting is here just the same, but the financial tightjackening seams, from an outside view, to be already in a higher range.
